The darkness of Night

Lost as I am in confusion
I need the deepness of darkness
To help me
Center again
Within myself

Into the darkness
My roots anchor deeply and firmly
In this darkness
No more distraction
From what I am

The silence
The darkness
And the loneliness of Night
Bring me home within myself
Time and again

I can only be grateful
To have discovered
The strength and courage
Of loneliness
As I lived through it …

And to be able now
To recognise it
As one of the most direct paths
To myself
Whenever I find myself lost

This doesn’t mean
It comes easy
It is a path to be discovered
Everytime anew
Over and over again

As the darkness of Night thickens and deepens
All I wish for
Is to loose myself in it
In order to recover myself
And to go to sleep …
